Compliance Risk: Ghana's EPA Closes Empire Cement's Weija Plant

Ghana's Environmental Protection Authority, led by chief executive Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, ordered Empire Cement Ghana Ltd to halt operations at its Weija plant on 14 September 2026, citing alleged air-pollution breaches and missing environmental monitoring returns [S1].
